Warwick Castle in Warwick, Warwickshire is located along the banks of the Avon River, eight miles from Stratford on Avon. Built in 1608 by William the Conqueror, it was used as a stronghold till the 17th century when it was converted into a country house. Since its construction the castle underwent several structural changes resulting in one of the most outstanding examples of 14th century military architecture. It is currently owned by the Tussauds Group of Madame Tussauds Wax Museum fame.

These exhibits are commonly displayed in the basement called the Undercroft. The state rooms and the Great Hall on the ground floor are lavishly decorated and furnished in a 17th century manner. Several bedrooms are furnished for royal visits according to the period that the event took place.
A fine collection of well preserved medieval armor can be found in the castle armory. One of the exhibits is a helmet worn by the great military leader Oliver Cromwell in the civil war in the 17th century.
